When Andrew Robertson was appointed President of BBDO Worldwide in November 2003 and CEO in May 2004, he was only 43, which made him the youngest BBDO President ever.
Born in Zimbabwe and raised in South Africa, Andrew earned an economics degree from the University of London. He began his advertising career at Ogilvy & Mather as a Media Planner but later switched to Account Management. He was appointed to the Board of Ogilvy & Mather in 1986. Robertson continued his career as a member of J. Walter Thompson’s Management Group and as CEO of WCRS.
Andrew first came to BBDO in 1995, joining Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO where he ultimately served as Chief Executive. In 2001, he moved to BBDO North America, which he led as CEO.
He currently serves on the Boards of The Advertising Council, the American Association of Advertising Agencies, The Special Olympics and the Center on Media and Child Health.
