Criteria for "CMO of the Year"
The award "CMO of the Year" will be given to a marketer who has outperformed along the following excellence criteria:
- Successful Market Entry:
The marketer has successfully managed a market entry, e.g.
- company or product gained significant market share (volume and/or value) already in the first twelve months after launch
- new company or new product has achieved a significant brand awareness within the first twelve months after launch (compared to established brands in the respective market)
- Successful Growth Strategy:
The marketer has achieved a significant above market average growth rate for the company over the past twelve months, e.g. by
- launching a new product
- successfully extending the brand
- successfully re-launching the brand
- introducing a revolutionary pricing concept
- Successful Management of the Business:
The marketer has contributed to a significant improvement of the business, e.g. by
- establishing an innovative/most effective marketing organization in the respective industry
- redefining a commonly applied business model in the respective market (e.g. launching a low cost business model in a certain market)
- launching a new product putting the company back on track
- introducing and applying marketing ROI techniques
- Successful Marketing in Eastern & Central Europe:
The marketer has proven to be an innovative leader, e.g. by
- entering the market in an innovative way, leveraging critical success factors in the local market environment
- adapting a local company or product and successfully positioning it against global brands or products in the respective market
- Successful Brand Management:
The marketer has successfully introduced a new company/product brand, e.g. in terms of
- brand value
- brand awareness (prompted and unprompted)
- forced choice
- qualified recall
A jury consisting of representatives from industry, academics, media and professional services will select the most promising candidates with
the most convincing story. Those who make it to the shortlist will be contacted and asked to confirm that they are willing to continue with the
selection process. Based on personal interviews and further detailed information about the nominees' achievements, the jury will select the
"CMO of the Year".
